Southern Avenue Charter School grew out of the Southern Avenue Children's Care and Development Center, its sponsoring organization. With its holistic approach to learning, Southern Avenue prides itself on special programs intended to enhance the educational experience, including a before and after-school program, foreign language program, and an after-school creative arts program. Southern Avenue requires parents to volunteer 10 hours each semester at the school. Southern Avenue Charter School is currently serving 195 students in grades K-5.
