Promise Academy is committed to preparing children to excel in the nation's most rigorous high schools. Located in the heart of Frayser on the campus of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the school opened to 60 kindergarteners in August 2005. The school's focus is teaching and inspiring the mind, body, and spirit of children so they can succeed in academic and cultural settings. Promise Academy's partnerships include Emmanuel Episcopal Center, the Greater Memphis Arts Council, Girls, Inc. Memphis, Christian Brothers University, and the University of Memphis. What makes Promise Academy unique is its Life and Culture Curriculum designed to engage families in planning for the future. The school also has an extended school day and academic year. Promise is currently serving 120 students in grades K-1 and will serve grades K-8 at capacity.
